How to Budget Your Bills in Under 30 Minutes

You don’t need a perfect system. You need a complete list of bills and a clear number for what’s left after they’re paid.

Minute 0–10: Dump every bill

Open your bank/credit accounts and list every recurring charge: rent/mortgage, utilities, insurance, phones, debt minimums, subscriptions, tuition, childcare, and memberships.

Minute 10–20: Add due dates and amounts

Write the due date, amount, and whether it’s autopay. Sort by due date. This alone prevents most “I forgot” moments.

Minute 20–30: Calculate breathing room

Total the bills. Subtract from take-home income. That remainder is your true monthly flexibility. If it’s thin, pick one action: negotiate, pause a subscription, or shift a due date.

Use the Bill Load Calculator if you want the math done instantly.
